As we approach the end of the year, holiday parties, work deadlines, and family gatherings slowly take over our calendars. Truth be told, it can be difficult to stay calm in the face for chaos. So how do the Life Therapies practitioners cope with seasonal stress?

Write it down and prioritize: Get all the tasks out of your head. Make to-do lists or put all your tasks into a calendar. Seeing what’s on deck makes it easier to manage or delegate to get it done!

Carve out time for fresh air: Remember to take breaks, even if you have to schedule them in your calendar! Go outside and enjoy the crisp fresh air. It does the mind, body and soul good.

The joy of laughter: Laughing keeps our stress in check by increasing the production of serotonin and endorphins, while reducing the levels of stress hormones. If you need a quick pick-me-up, laugh!

Feeling stressed? Ask for help: Chances are you’re not the only one feeling stressed. By talking to your family, friends, and coworkers, you’ll be surprised at how quickly others open up about “feeling the pressure”. Delegate, lean on each other — above all, don’t fear asking for help!

We hope these tips help you slow down and prioritize during the busiest of days ahead. Above all, remember to honour your time, your health, and your wellbeing.
