About Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage Therapy
Barefoot pressure massage. The ancient art of therapeutic practice of barefoot massage is best known in North America as the Japanese term “Ashiatsu”, “ashi” (foot) and “atsu” (pressure). For the safety of both the client and the therapist, this type of massage is typically performed on a massage table with an overhead set of parallel bars to ensure stability and precision of strokes. Swedish style relaxation or therapeutic deep tissue techniques can be achieved using the feet.
