Bharat is a Physiotherapist with a decade of experience. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from one of the top medical schools in India in 2011, and certified as a Manual Therapist in 2012. In 2016, he completed advanced post-graduate training in spinal manipulation and became a Certified Manual Therapist in Canada through the SWODEAM Institute.
Bharat has also taken post-graduate courses in Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Muscle Energy Technique (MET), Core Strengthening, and Vestibular Rehabilitation.
In 2020, Bharat returned to India to study yoga at an Ashram, leading to his certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher. His time at the Ashram deepened his knowledge of and interest in yoga, not only as a form of physical exercise, but also a lifestyle. In his physiotherapy practice, Bharat often prescribes yoga exercises as part of a home exercise program to complement and enhance his physiotherapy treatments.
Bharat’s goal as a Physiotherapist is to minimize pain, improve function, and enhance his patients’ quality of life. He believes there is no universal treatment approach that is right for every individual. He utilizes a variety of specialized techniques to address each individual’s unique challenge or problem, whether it is pain, weakness, stiffness, scar tissue, or a musculoskeletal condition.
Bharat’s career started as an ICU Physiotherapist, which taught him to be empathetic to the specific needs and concerns faced by a diverse group of individuals and families. He has also worked in an Orthopedic Department where he treated acute to chronic injuries, sports injuries, and post-surgical repairs like ACL, PCL, and patellar ligament reconstruction, hip and knee replacements, and much more. He has a special interest in treating shoulders (rotator-cuff tears), backs, and knees.
