Tamara Bond-Vlad, a Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Yoga Teacher, often prescribes yoga poses to help treat her clients’ musculoskeletal conditions.  Yoga encourages proper posture and elongation of the spine, which is especially important for those people with sedentary professions.  Yoga poses are very effective to stretch shortened muscles.  As well, when practiced properly, Yoga poses are very relaxing and encourage the parasympathetic nervous system to predominate.   Pain is eased and healing is sped up once the body has tapped into its innate healing capabilities.
