Acupuncture

Acupuncture is used by Physiotherapists to assist with reducing pain.  It has been proven to relieve musculoskeletal pain and headaches.  Clinical outcomes have demonstrated a positive response in approximately 80% of patients.

Acupuncture, a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is believed to unblocked energy pathways, called meridians, that have been blocked secondary to illness, disease, and stress.   Properly placed acupuncture needles allow a free-flow of energy along the meridians.   Once energy is flowing freely, the body’s natural healing ability is optimized.

In the West, it has been proven that the insertion of acupuncture needles causes a release of endorphins, the body’s own pain-reliever.

Tamara Bond-Vlad, a Registered Physiotherapist, is licensed to perform acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal problems.  Tamara finds that acupuncture has been a valuable tool to treat headaches, all types of nerve pain, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, rotator cuff tendonitis, and back and neck pain.
